Nice to see some impartial writing at the Irish Independent.

“Eddie O’Sullivan was probably busy in the two hours before kickoff and missed Wales’ stuttering but comprehensive win over Italy. When he reviews it this week he will realise that despite his would-be nemesis Warren Gatland talking up the men in red, the reality is that the Kiwi has been extremely lucky with an average squad. Irelan dare not an average squad; they just play like one.”

The Welsh squad… average?

Hey, I am as partisan as the next man but this is simply bs.

Couple of the Italians must be going to the Olympics, I didn’t know that synchronised diving was so big over there.

Those naughty boys:

  1.  The knee to SJs head was a low blow, deserves a citing.
  2. Mirco Bergamasco diving. Come on Mirco, you are a great player. Diving like that is beneath you.
  3. Masi running into Evans then acting as if he has been shot

No need for it. Leave it on the football pitch.

Wales 47 Italy 8

Great atmosphere again in the stadium and in the city.

Bit of a nervy 1st half especially as we should have been streets ahead. The whole back line (apart from Peel, who looked dazed before he took a knock) played with passion and purpose. Nice to see Stephen Jones producing again.

Not perfect but gives Wales a bit of momentum.

Nice piece little interview with Shaun (Sion) Edwards…

“Wigan absolutely has a lot in common with Wales,” he added. “Someone asked me what’s it like in Wales? The answer is it’s like a giant Wigan except the rules are different.

“The passion’s the same. The emotion’s the same, the enthusiasm of the people and their friendliness.

“There are a lot of similarities between the people of south Wales and the north of England, in particular a place like Wigan and the rugby side of it. It’s a nice kind of bonkers.

I have always liked Sion even though he is the sort of scary mother lover that you would not want to cross.

I am encouraged that the Welsh setup is receiving a well needed shake up. For years many players have been cruising once settled in the top flight. Regional rugby was meant to address some of those issues but from my view point it has not happened.

Perhaps a pair of honest coaches with no baggage can.

Was it or wasn’t it…

Lots of debate about it. Overall consensus is his foot may have been in touch but he deserved the try for the effort..

Sorry to share this with you guys but I think I have found the reason why England have been putting in some odds performances of late. Their training regime is a bit … well ..

not right

If I had to do this to get into Brian’s good books then I too would be asking Zara Phillips to punch me repeatedly in the liver.

I really do feel sick now.

Nice. The WRU signs a 4 year shirt deal with Under Armour for a reported £10m.

I hope they continue in the vein of Reebok who have created some fantastic kits over the last 12 years for the team and fans alike.

Secondly I hope the investment is used wisely, that I am not sure about.
