Nice piece little interview with Shaun (Sion) Edwards…

 “Wigan absolutely has a lot in common with Wales,” he added. “Someone asked me what’s it like in Wales? The answer is it’s like a giant Wigan except the rules are different.

“The passion’s the same. The emotion’s the same, the enthusiasm of the people and their friendliness.

“There are a lot of similarities between the people of south Wales and the north of England, in particular a place like Wigan and the rugby side of it. It’s a nice kind of bonkers.

I have always liked Sion even though he is the sort of scary mother lover that you would not want to cross.

I am encouraged that the Welsh setup is receiving a well needed shake up. For years many players have been cruising once settled in the top flight. Regional rugby was meant to address some of those issues but from my view point it has not happened.

Perhaps a pair of honest coaches with no baggage can.
